  Post Conference Information

The Mercury2006 web site will remain active as we continue to share information about the conference. Check back periodically as we continue to post information on various aspects of the conference. You can now:

READ THE CONFERENCE DECLARATION  –  The major conclusions from the plenary panels are included in the Conference Declaration that addressed key, policy-relevant questions concerning four topics: atmospheric sources of mercury, methylmercury exposure and its effects on humans and wildlife, socioeconomic consequences of mercury use and pollution, and recovery of mercury-contaminated fisheries. The Declaration was unanimously endorsed by all the expert panelists, and strong overall agreement was expressed by the conferees who participated in the plenary assessment process. Also read the press release.

VIEW THE CONFERENCE VIDEOS  –  We have recorded the opening and closing sessions, together with each of the four plenary sessions from the conference. The plenary session videos will allow those who were unable to attend to view panel presentations and discussions at the plenary sessions. For those who attended, it is a chance to re-live your week in Madison.

BROWSE THE CONFERENCE STORE  –  Couldn’t attend the conference and want a copy of the abstract book or CD? Attended, but forgot to buy a T-shirt for your kids? Just shopping for some great holiday gifts? We have made many items from the Mercury2006 conference available for purchase through our conference store.

READ THE ASC CHRONICLE  –  The UW Aquatic Sciences Center has provided a special four-page summary of the conference in their Summer/Fall newsletter. There are plenty of stories and pictures from the week in Madison.

SHOW US YOUR MAGNET!  –  All who attended the conference received one of our famous magnets. Send a digital photo to show where your magnet has landed. Many have traveled all over the world, and we now have pictures to prove it!
