DescriptionThis session will examine the worldwide use of mercury amalgam in dentistry and present recent findings on the uptake of mercury from dental amalgam in humans and its potential effects on health. The session will also describe the impact and management of amalgam waste, including efforts to reduce the contribution of amalgam waste to environmental mercury contamination.
