| Methylmercury availability in invertebrate foodwebs | | S-HR-6 | | Poster | | Methylmercury bioaccumulates in tissues and can cause behavioral, physiological and reproductive effects. This has been well-documented in piscivorous animals, but bioaccumulation of methylmercury in insect-eating wildlife can sometimes exceed that of fish-eating birds. How methylmercury passes through food webs for non-piscivorous wildlife will be the focus of this symposium. | David Evers BioDiversity Research Institute Gorham, ME 04038 david.evers@briloon.org | Daniel Cristol Dept. of Biology College of William & Mary Williamsburg, VA 23187 USA dacris@wm.edu | | Back |
