DescriptionCoal is a global energy resource.  52% of the electricity produced in the United States comes from coal.  Coal is an even more important resource in emerging countries like China and India.  Coal will be used as an energy resource for the foreseeable future.  Understanding the mercury concentrations in this global resource is imperative to understanding the impact of coal on the global environment.
